Antonio was killed by NYPD officers on September 29th, near Edenwald Houses in the Bronx.

Plainclothes officers jumped out of their cars in the middle of the night, while he was on the street with a friend. Our understanding is that he was waiting for a cab when officers jumped out.

Antonio was chased and at least six officers drew their guns and opened fire, killing both Antonio and Officer Brian Mulkeen.

After his killing, Antonio was vilified in the press, with the NYPD claiming a gun of Antonio's was found at the scene and blaming Antonio for Officer Mulkeen's death - although it was other officers who shot and killed Mulkeen.

Last year, JC, CPR, and others worked with my family to ensure that we would be able to see body camera footage before the NYPD released it to the public. After committing to delay release of the footage until the full family was able to view it, the NYPD went back on their word and released edited, incomplete footage. Antonio's and my mother was not able to see the footage before it was released.

To this date, the NYPD has offered no reasonable suspicion for why Antonio was approached and chased by officers
